We've been cooking North Indian food at 1257 Pacific Highway in Turramurra since 2010 — BYO wine or beer, an upstairs room that seats 60, and a tandoor that runs every service. It's a short run from Bobbin Head, whether you're heading home through North Wahroonga or straight down Bobbin Head Road, so if you've spent the day on Cowan Creek and want a proper meal on the way back, we're on the way. Dine-in
Dinner runs seven nights, 5:30–10pm, with lunch added Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 3pm. Public holiday hours aren't listed on the site, so if you're heading out on a holiday, give us a quick call before you leave the park.
Book on the website or our app for Friday or Saturday — it takes a minute — and we'll take walk-ins whenever a table's free.
We're BYO wine or beer (corkage applies, glassware's on us), and if a bottle stays in the car, there's mango, sweet or strawberry lassi, masala chai, soft drinks, juice and mineral water instead.
The tandoor doesn't stop all service: naan cooked to order, chicken tikka, Lucknow sheekh kebab, lamb cutlets, fish tikka, prawn and paneer tikka all come off it, and the dal makhani has usually been sitting over charcoal since the night before. Every curry on the menu is gluten free, and our vegetarian dishes are built as mains, not side thoughts — tell your server if something needs to be vegan or if anyone's got an allergy.
Parking's on the surrounding streets and Turramurra station is a short walk if part of your group is coming by train. On Google, we're sitting at 4.0 stars from 400+ reviews.
On the table
The menu's grouped the way the kitchen actually cooks: First Impressions to start (samosa, onion bhaji, chaat, straight off the tandoor), then chicken, lamb, beef, goat on the bone, seafood, and a vegetarian list long enough to anchor a meal on its own. Biryani gets its own section, breads come from the tandoor, and sides are raita, chutney, pappadum and salad, with gulab jamun or kulfi to finish.
Four or more at the table? Ask about the banquet set — mixed entrée, curries, a dal or vegetable, breads, rice, sides and dessert. Two are already on the menu, or we'll build a custom one; pricing's on the site rather than repeated here.
If you're after something mild, butter chicken, mango chicken, chicken kashmiri korma and lamb shahi korma are the ones that keep coming back. For more heat, rogan josh, madras, vindaloo and pepper masala sit right next to them.
Takeaway and delivery
Order through jaihoindian.com.au or our app — both give you a confirmation with a prep time, and pickup orders are usually ready in 20 to 30 minutes depending on how busy the kitchen is; just give your name at the door.
Everything's packed to survive the drive home: curry in sealed containers, naan wrapped separately, rice on its own, sauces that won't leak. Butter chicken, garlic naan and lamb rogan josh are the three that travel best. On your own, butter chicken with garlic naan and rice or a chicken biryani with raita both work well; for a table's worth after a day at the park, two curries, rice or a biryani, and naan is the usual order. If it needs to be vegetarian, dal makhani, palak paneer and chana masala all hold up.
Delivery covers Turramurra, Pymble, Killara, Wahroonga, Warrawee, South Turramurra, Gordon and the surrounding suburbs — the site confirms your suburb and timing before you pay. Functions
Upstairs seats 60, and when you book it, it's exclusively yours — not a curtained-off corner of the main room. We'll run a banquet menu or build a custom one, BYO still applies, and we still provide the glassware. Two days' notice is enough most of the year, though December books out early, so get in ahead of it if you're planning something that month.
It covers most of what people ask for: birthdays from about ten people up to a full room, work dinners and client tables, family celebrations like Diwali, Eid or Christmas, and the odd wedding or engagement dinner. It's our own room, run out of the same kitchen as dinner service, and we can shape the table layout around a work agenda if that's what the night needs. For catering, we run party platters and banquet trays for a house or an office straight out of this kitchen. Give us a date and a headcount — (02) 9144 6662 or the contact form both work — and we'll collect at 1257 Pacific Highway unless we've arranged a drop-off. Worth asking what's running that week.
From Bobbin Head
Bobbin Head is the picnic spot on Cowan Creek inside Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, with the visitor centre pinned at 688 Ku-ring-gai Chase Road, Mount Colah. Two sealed roads get you there — Bobbin Head Road through North Turramurra, or Ku-ring-gai Chase Road from Mount Colah — and if you came in the North Turramurra way, you're already close.
The park itself is open sunrise to sunset, the visitor centre 10am to 4pm, and entry is $12 a vehicle for the day, payable at a station or through Park'nPay. Swimming isn't recommended. If you want to eat before you leave, it's Empire Marina or the Waterside Bistro inside the park — we're the North Indian option on the way out, whether that's a table, a pickup, the room upstairs, or a catering collection at 1257 Pacific Highway.
If the visitor centre's already closed and you're after dinner, we open at 5:30pm; weekend lunch runs 11am to 3pm if you're leaving earlier in the day. Mobile reception inside the park is patchy, so if you want pickup or a table waiting when you arrive, order or book on the app before you drop into the valley, or call (02) 9144 6662 once you've got signal on the way out.

By car via Ku-ring-gai Chase Road and the M1, it's 16 minutes and 13.7km in normal traffic — Google Maps' fastest route as of 22 August 2026, though it does run through a toll.
From the Bobbin Head visitor centre: head toward Apple Tree Bay Carpark Road for 6.2km, merge onto the Pacific Motorway/M1 toward Sydney/Parramatta for 3.5km, stay on the M1 for 950m, take the Pacific Highway/A1 exit after 290m, then turn left onto the Pacific Highway/A1 — we're on the left after 2.7km.
Maps also offers two toll-free options: 18 minutes/11.3km via Bobbin Head Road, or 19 minutes/11.5km via Bannockburn Road and Bobbin Head Road, if you'd rather skip the M1.
Once you're on the highway, look for Jai Ho Indian Turramurra on the left. From there it's whichever door you came for — a table, the pickup counter, the stairs up to the room, or a catering collection.
